Pottery Lessons & Workshops


Bi-Weekly Hand-Building Group Lessons

  • 2hr session (for ages 12 & up)
  • Held on 1st and 3rd Sunday* of each month, from 6:00pm-8:00pm
    • Please arrive 5min early so we can settle you into your spot and start on time. :)
  • ​£25 per person (max 10 per class)
  • £30 per person for private classes
  • This is an interactive session where you’ll learn hand-building techniques (pinching, slab-building, etc.) & make multiple pieces like cups/jugs/pots.
  • Sessions are BYOB – we provide cups/bottle openers.
  • We ask that you please pay upfront in order for us to book you in (our instructor turns up, even if you don’t!).
  • Pieces are ready for collection 2-3 weeks after class…once fired, you can either return to paint your own pieces (£5 extra) or just have them glazed clear to show the natural clay colour.
  • All instruction, materials, finishing glaze and firing costs included in price.

Private Throwing Lesson for Beginners (Introduction to Pottery)

  • 1.5hr session
  • £50 for 1 person OR £70 for 2 people (max 2 per class)
  • An introductory taster session based on the potters’ wheel, you will learn to throw basic cylinder forms and create your own pots.
  • Pieces are ready for collection 2-3 weeks after class…once fired, you can either return to paint your own pieces (£7 extra) or just have them glazed clear to show the natural clay colour.
  • All instruction, materials, finishing glaze and firing costs included in price.

Available add-on: handle-making lesson £20pp

  • 1-hour session
  • 1 week after original taster session
  • Further instruction on how to turn your pots/cylinders into jugs/mugs.


Private 5-Week Pottery Workshop for Beginners

  • 2hr 30min sessions once every week, for 5 weeks
  • £220 for 1 person OR £400 for 2 people (max x2 per class)
  • Pieces are ready for collection 2-3 weeks after final class.
  • All instruction, materials, glaze and firing costs included in price.

Lesson Schedule:

  • Week 1 - Introduction to throwing
  • Week 2 - Throwing basic forms mastering cylinder
  • Week 3 - Throwing using new techniques and mastering the skills
  • Week 4 - Finishing bases, pulling handles and adding them to your pots
  • Week 5 - Glaze or paint your own pottery pieces

Private Kids’ Taster Hand-Building Lesson

  • 1hr session
  • £20 for 1 person (max 6 per class)
  • An introduction to hand-building for children – create your own hand-built pottery pieces from balls of clay.
  • You will learn to make your own hanging ceramic animal decoration, mini hanging bunting, and trinket bowls.
  • Pieces are ready for collection 2-3 weeks after class…once fired, you can either return to paint your own pieces (£5 extra) or just have them glazed clear to show the natural clay colour.
  • All instruction, materials, finishing glaze and firing costs included in price.


Private Kids’ Taster Pottery Lesson

  • 1hr 30min session
  • £40 for 1 person OR £60 for 2 people (max 2 per class)
  • The kids’ taster session is an introductory session to handmade ceramics.
  • The class starts with a 30min hand-building session, then moves on to the potters’ wheel.
  • You will learn to throw basic cylinder forms and create your own pots.
  • Pieces are ready for collection 2-3 weeks after class…once fired, you can either return to paint your own pieces (£7 extra) or just have them glazed clear to show the natural clay colour.
  • All instruction, materials, finishing glaze and firing costs included in price.

Private Kids’ 4-Week Pottery Workshop for Beginners

  • 1hr and 30min sessions once every week, for 4 weeks
  • £140 for 1 person OR £230 for 2 people (max 2 per class)
  • A fun introduction to pottery, covering all areas…starting with hand-building techniques and working your way to the potters’ wheel.
  • Pieces are ready for collection 2-3 weeks after final class
  • All instruction, materials, glaze and firing costs included in price.

Lesson Schedule:

  • Week 1 -  Hand-building pottery, using the slab and pinch techniques to create your own mug and trinket bowl.
  • Week 2 - Throwing basic cylinders, using the potters’ wheel.
  • Week 3 - Making and adding handing to your leather hard pottery at this stage you will also finish off your piece ready for first firing.
  • Week 4 - Paint and glaze your own handmade pottery.
